After 5 weeks of cancellations, the Malaysian-bound members of Settedici finally met up at One Utama (not our usual haunt, but who cares?).
The decor at The Oval was fantastic. I want that statue!
I arrived there the earliest AS USUAL and went in search of The Golden Compass at MPH. I grabbed the book, and sat down to ponder if I should fork out RM32.90 and buy it or not (there was a RM20 version, but I couldn’t find it). I sat down at the circular padded reading chairs, and stared at the book as if I wanted to burn a hole into it.
Close to 15 minutes later, my thoughts were interrupted by a very familiar giggle.
Me : ….Nah…can’t be…*goes back to staring at price tag*
5 seconds later, a familiar male voice started saying something, and the laughter started again. Both voice and laugh made me inch off my chair, and peer out over the pillar. Sure enough…Lixia and Jia Hui who were supposed to meet me there.
Staring at the entrance.
Not calling me.
Me : …..
Shows how loud they were that I could hear them all the way over where I was!
This outing was really a break from tradition. Sure, we still unknowingly stopped walking halfway and stopped to talk forming a circle, but we were two short, and we were there for a relatively short time.
We also decided not to dilly dally, and headed straight to Robert Harris cafe.

Jia Hui was using my camera the whole day! Snapping pictures every second. I'm still keeping them though, cause they're quite funny :D *laughs at Angeline*
After a short
Sigh.
It was nice. It was nice, not good. Patrick Dempsey kept reminding me of Dr. Sheperd, which will be a problem for him if he wants to go into film.
It was a feel good movie, and we were laughing for the most part :)

So Close by Jon McLaughlin is a must download.
After the movie, we headed to Burger King for our fast food dinner where Kenneth joined us. After that, and a short detour to pick up Charm’s guitar and for Angeline to buy Christmas Candy at Jusco, we (except Kenneth and Charm who went to have “sexy time” at Mohsin) were bundled into Jia Hui’s car.
Instead of going in progression following how close people lived relative to OU (Angeline, Lixia, Me), he went the opposite way (Me first).
The ride back was split into two sections of conversation. The oldies were in front talking politics (Emy and Jia Hui), while the kids (Lxia, Angeline and yours truly) talked about the oldies in front, and lots of other stuff which I’ve forgotten. Hmm…
Oh, and we took pics!
Then Jia Hui dropped me off, and my dad only opened the gate halfway before going back to TV (after noticing that Jia Hui drove a Merc), so he couldn’t even back in fully to make a turning. He didn’t really need to anyway, and so they set off to drop the rest. Thanks Jia Hui!
So now, all members of Settedici have seen my house (except Hannah). Only Pearly and Lixia have benn inside though. So now they finally know how WRONG all their perceptions of my “wealth” are. Hmph. See! I’ve been trying to tell you I’m normal all this time!
After some McD’s which my mom had ordered for me thinking I was coming back for dinner, I settled into bed to begin my literary journey with The Golden Compass. It’s a great book. I didn’t read every word or I’d have got a headache - the people in the book speak gyptian English, and their grammar is SO WRONG.
I can’t wait to get the Subtle Knife. Anyone? :D
Next Settedician outing : When Pearly arrives!
