Historical AMA's

My aunt has been having a conversation with her colleague on politics, goat-farming and timber for the last half an hour. So, I’m just sitting here listening to my Ipod. So, I decided I would do two sub-standard opinions on two excellent albums.

I’m fresh off watching the 2007 American Music Awards live from LA. Hilary sadly could not attend because she is still filming Greta. Beyonce received the honourary International Artist Award, which is the equivalent of a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, and is the first woman recipient. The award is only given out when there is a deserving recipient who is worthy of recognition for their accomplishments. Over the past 35 years, only 5 others have received the award : Michael Jackson, Rod Stewart, Aerosmith, Led Zepellin and the Bee Gees. All the performances were fantastic with the exception of Avril Lavigne and Alicia Keys (the blacks all loved Alicia’s though).

Fergie won Best Female Pop Artist. Her album, The Dutchess, has sold 5 million copies worldwide since September 2006.

This is one of those albums where you love every single track on it. It has heavy R&B songs along with your favourite singles (Clumsy, London Bridge, Fergalicious and Big Girls Don’t Cry). My favourite song is Clumsy, followed by Pedestal.

Maroon 5 performed their latest single, Won’t Go Home Without You. Their album is the BEST ALBUM OF 2007. EVERY SINGLE SONG IS FANTASTIC! Its fully worth the 5 year long wait, and I think the fact that they had that amount of time contributed to a fantastic album being made. The best song on the album is ‘Back at Your Door’, so hopefully it’ll be released as a single. The album has sold almost 3 million records worldwide since May.

If compared to Dignity, Maroon 5 pawns it, but I preferred Dignity to The Dutchess.

And, don’t bother watching the MTV European Music Awards. They were horrendous. MTV is so letting everyone down this year.

And condolences to Kanye West on the demise of his mother. She died of complications after her plastic surgery. A warrant has been issued for the arrest of the surgeon.
