A Level Annual Ball 2006

On a whole different note, DU people dont update their blogs do they? I read four DU-an blogs, and none of them have been updated since god-knows-when

And I would just like to add that, as I said in the previous post, I dont like being called when Im online, so the person who has been calling me, when I reject your call once, get the point la please.

Anyway, Thursday was the day of the Annual Ball, which I had been propelled into going to by a certain number of forces...

The main two forces went by the names of Divya and Rachel

you would notice, that I write Divya first though Im closer to Rachel, but Divya insists that she is the ULTIMATE force which propelled me into giving up RM120 which could have been used for presents or credit!

Anyway, minor forces were Ray Mun who told me I could rent tuxes, and Seok who told me where to buy the tuxes

Anyway, a month or two before the ball, Rachel got ME to find people, and so I managed to scrounge up Shing Yun, Ying Sim (thats how you spell it right?), Rachel, Fatin, Fatin's bf, and Seok Mei.

I really coudlnt find anymore, because Simone didnt wanna sit at my table if a certain someone was gonna be there, and Sarah found a table with her friends in the end.

So Ray Mun found us Beng Ian (from Cempaka Cheras), and Rachel dragged along Ee Lyn (thats how you spell it right?)

So everything went on smoothly, and I managed to plead seok (read : manipulate and out-stubborn) out of her many 'Im not going!' days.

Finally, the time came to collect tickets, which seok insisted we could not do without a receipt, which we never got. But somehow Rachel managed to collect everyones tickets without any trouble...but was Seok grateful?? Well....pmsy...

Me : hey

Seok : hey

Me : oh yeah rachel got your tick

Seok : why did she take it? why did she take it?

Me : i dunno, helping you la i guess

Seok : find out why she took my ticket!

Me : ask her la

Seok : can't be bothered..so KP is it, must take ticket for me..is she going to see me before the ball? nooooo

Me : yeah she said shes gonna give us on that night itself

Seok : ............................

Me : but i shall convey your...erm...thoughts

Seok : so what, when we don't have a ticket to go in, we call her phone and she'll come out with our tickets?

Me : yeah

Seok : how PATHETIC is that?

Me : or shell wait for us outside

Seok : ...........that's damn sad la wei..ARGH..she just ruined my plans

tell her thank you very much

Me : ....your plans??? walking regally into the hall? spotlight on you? alone? poised?

Seok : nothing to do with the ball la

Me : standing serenly there

Me : okayyy....you were going to go to help then mv? might as well go straight right?

Seok : HOW DO YOU EXPECT ME TO GO STRAIGHT TO MV AT 7.30AM IN THE MORNING?


yeah, well the rest isnt important
Im no expert, but shouldnt Seok at least felt a teenneee bit grateful to Rachel? And besides, she was like a lost little lamb on ball night so it was better that Rachel had her ticket!

Anyway, the day before arrived, and Shing Yun said she couldnt attend, cause of *secret* oooohhh!!! and so, there would be an empty placing...

Me : eh, got free place edi, so you can bring sunny
Rachel : Nvm I got ticket already
Me : oh how?
Rachel : from Ray Mun la
Me : but then, not nice right if he sits at another table without knowing anyone?
Rachel : huh? who?
Me : Sunny la
Rachel : Sunny? Sunnys not coming
Me : huh? then you said your bringing a date?
Rachel : yeah la not sunny
Me : then who? Ray Mun?
Rachel : why ray mun? hes not going to be sitting down!
Me : but...you like sunny right
Rachel : since when did I tell you I liked sunny?
Me : since your internship?
Rachel : what! what!
Me : then who you like
Rachel : That guy I showed you la!
Me : name?
Rachel : not gonna tell you, you can find out on that day ;)
Me : its that choo wei or whoever right!!!
Rachel : dunno dunno! You ah always jumping to conclusions
Me : I do not!!!!!!! YOU TOLD ME YOU LIKED SUNNY!
Rachel : I thought I did, but actually I like this guy
Me : ............................I give up on you la I tell you

Anyway, the day came, and I went to the salon to get my very-short-ungellable hair gelled, and lo and behold next to me was another girl from HELP...and my mom was talking to her oblivious to the fact that I knew her!!! Oh god...I met her later at the ball...

I planned (yes Shari & Julie, I like planning SO WHAT!!!) to leave at 6.50 since the ball was at 7.00, so I could arrive at 7.15

Did that happen? NOPE!

I left at 7.00, and reached there at 7.20 (eventhough I live so damn close), and waited for the lost little lamb seok mei to find the entrance to Hilton KL, so that I could accompany her upstairs so she wouldnt be as lost

As I stepped into the entrance hall, I saw ties...why were my eyes drawn straight away to the ties?

CAUSE I WASNT WEARING ONE! PART OF MY 'STYLE' WAS NO TIES!!
Finally, I spotted a FEW without, but I was the only one who wore red and black, instead of white and black

There was even a 'polar bear', a girl, with white fur wrapped around her! My goodness...

And the dress that won 'most used topic of conversation' was of course the dress on the left...
I have no comment

Anyway, Seok and I waited for Ying Sim, and then hung around for a while outside the hall, and I was bludgeoned into taking a free picture

well, we decided that was as good was it was gonna get, since I was adamantly refusing to retake...and also Seok learnt that she had to tilt her head the other way in order for the flower in her hair to be seen.

Before I left, I wanted to bring my wallet but it was so stuffed full of notes, that it was so fat, so I decided not to...BIG MISTAKE

There was a lucky draw, where the more Hotlink credit you buy, the more chance you have of winning a motorola handphone...

GOD! so Seok very proudly joined in

anyway, the food was good, and the company was good, and the deco was...quite good la also

and of course there was amusement in the form of Ray Mun scurrying around sending commands through his walkie-talkie like my 5 year old cousin, who got a walkie-talkie for his birthday...he was so...thrilled and caught up with it =p

Anyway, then after a while the entertainment started with the fire breathers

as you may or may not know, I LOVE FIRE, and of all the fire breathers Ive watched, this was quite good, cause from where I was sitting, you could feel the immense heat when they blew the fire out, which Ive never experienced before. (And NO Jeff its not in my head)

And then, the photography sessions began, and I was hired (without pay) to be seoks cameraman, and of the total amount of pictures I took, her pictures outnumber mine...

and mine all suck thanks to me

Anyway, I left the ball at 12.00, because I was supposed to see my mom off at the airport at 7.15am the next day...and my dad had the nerve to tell me, 'Oh, it ended at 1? Then you should have told me to come later!'

ggrrrr...

anyway...in the end I never made it to send off my mom, but thats a whole different post.

So I guess that ends this long boring post...
It was quite fun, and since it was my first prom, and also since the company was good (awwww....i know im so sweet =p)
Yeah, so if the night had just ended with the ball it would have been perfect, but as usual, it didnt...but as I said
