I got back home, and at around 2.00 fell into an uneasy state of rest...
then at around 2.45, I felt this ache in my left bottom jaw. The ache was so annoying, and whenever I closed my eyes to try and sleep, I would get a fleeting jabbing headache. So, I thought this is the same thing that I get, when I read for a long time with my chin resting on my pillow, and that it would go off with time.
Boy was I wrong
When I turned the other way to try and sleep, the pain would increase. The only thing that would make me feel a bit better was when I sat upright in bed and not move.
Finally, I thought it was better, and went back to the sleeping position, when the pain attacked again. This time, over time I could feel it moving upwards along my eustacian tube to my ear. Finally the pain stopped at the entrance of my ear.
I felt as if there was a square block trying to push out of my ear, but the hole was too small so it was stuck there.
I looked at the clock, and it read 3.15am. I was comtemplating going into my parents room, waking them up and telling them, but decided not to. Five minutes later I couldnt stand it, and so I went into their room and told them. My dad told me to lie down and try to get back to sleep, while he massaged the area. He left after a while, and finally at 4.00am I really couldnt take it. I was almost tearing with the pain, and so I walked back into my parents room, and found my mom awake, and my dad in the TV room. I told him I couldnt stand it, and so my parents decided to send me to the hospital.
My mom rang Assunta to find out the doctor in charge, while my dad and I got ready, and finally we left. The way my dad drove was as if he really thought I was gonna die or something. My god, I was quite amazed at the speed and *uhummm* style of his driving. We screeched into the parking lot of Assunta, and walked to the emergency department. After 5 minutes I was shown in, and the doctor looking at me empathically told me that my eustacian tube was blocked, possibly due to my flu the past week.
She also said the doctor that treated my flu had not given me enought medication, and so my throat was re-inflammed. She prescribed Zithromax for the throat, Ponstan for the pain, Clarityne for the blockage, and some acidy thingy incase my stomach was upset.
My mom rang us while we were waiting for the medicine, and told my dad to tell the doctor about the irregularity of my heartbeat.
Now, you might say this has nothing to do with my ear right? Well, even for a simple cough or cold, my mom will not fail to tell the doctors about my heart condition.
So my dad ushered me back in and told the doctor about my 'condition'. The doctor said I had to take an ECG.
Me : I already took an ECG THREE TIMES!!!
Dr. : What did the specialist say?
Dad : That there was a misbeat but there was nothing to worry about.
Dr. : Its a misbeat! There IS something to care about! Nurse get the ECG machine ready!
So, I took my FOURTH ECG and the doctor told my dad quite seriously 'There IS a murmur, and the graph shows a misbeat."
Dad : But...the specialist said it was only a SLIGHT murmur
Dr. : *very matter-of-factly* A murmur is a murmur
Dad : Can you at least check with the past records?
Dr. : Very well have a seat while we locate the files.
So we went out into the waiting room, and I was so infuirated that I had to wait SUCH A BLARDY LONG TIME WITH THE PAIN IN MY EAR FOR THE FILE! My dad was trying to make me feel better, cause he thought I was scared, which I wasnt cause I was too busy being mad.
Finally after 20 minutes, the doctor called us back in and said quite relieved, 'Nothing to worry about, its the same as the last graph, so you just need to keep your regular checkups with the specialist.'
Dad : See, I told you nothing would be wrong!
Me : ....cant we just GO HOME!!!!
so we reached home, with my mom anxiously waiting with panadol in one hand and a glass of water in the other (my moms allergic to Ponstan, so she wanted me to substitute it with Panadol just incase), and i fell asleep immediately
The next morning my mom told me while I was sleeping to take care, and that she was leaving, and said goodbye and left the house, which meant that my plans of taking her to the airport were annulled.
Anyway, the bottom line is, after my course of medication I am still deaf in my left ear.
When I listen to the radio in my sleep, when I turn over one side, the radio is sooooooo very soft, and when i turn the other way its tremendously loud...
And Ive to get people to repeat what their telling me. And when im on the phone, sometimes I wonder why its so soft, and then I realise I forgot to switch ears.
Sigh...

haha reminds me when I was a kid and had ear infections. Though the time my brother got a blockage in his urinary tract, I remember being half asleep as he drove fast down the highway.
