Surprise Surprise Part 1/6

So...hi!!!

ill update about my exams later, since this is supposedly more...important...hehehe...anyway...

This is a step-by-step guide to how seoks supposedly-surprise birthday party came to be

When i found out around a month ago, that it was seoks birthday on June 12 (note : JUNE 12!), i started worrying...

Why?
Because i had no money
Why?
Because my parents borrowed it all
Why do i need money?
To buy her a gift
Why?
Cause shes my friend?
Why?
Cause i met her at tuition...and shes nice la i guess
Why?
cause she was in the same class?
Why?
cause pn. azizah put her there?
Why?
i dunno why ask her la
Why?
cause you wanna know!
Why?
how am i supposed to know why you wanna know?!


so i started freaking out. And so i asked ray mun if we could share her gift, and he was game so fine. Then comes the problem...

Ruwan : so what to get her?
Ray Mun : .........
Ruwan : .........

okay...so then i was talking to juen, and on the phone with her i got this (if i may say so myself) brilliant (at the time) idea, why not throw a surprise party?! So i message ray mun, and at the same time Ju-En messages me asking me what im getting seok...so i tell her...

Juen : hey thats cool! I wanna share with you!
Me : erm....but i said ill share with this other guy...
Juen : who?
Me : seoks friend
Juen : name?
Me : Ray Mun
Juen : ray mun not raymond?
Me : yeah...ray mun
Juen : oh...but i wanna share! cut him off!
Me : I cant just cut him off like that!
Juen : Fine!
Me : unless i share something else with him.....
Juen : work something out

so...yeah...anyway...who to invite? Initially the list looked like this

Guest List
1. Me
2. Ju-en
3. Ray Mun
4. Jun King
5. 3 girls she hangs out with in HELP
6. DU friends *

* I got the idea of inviting the DU people cause i remember seok saying that she was gonna miss LAN cause she couldnt hang out with her DU friends, and also she always wanted to go out and meet up with them anyway.

An hour later, ray mun replies my message asking if i needed his help (thanks!). So i ask him for the numbers of DU people...expecting a flood of numbers streaming into my phone, I get two.

Inner Monolouge :
Aggraveted Ruwan : Two?! TWO?!
Paranoid : Ruwan: TWOOOOO?!!??!
Sarcastic Ruwan : Wow so many...hi seok this is your surprise party of TWO people...clap clap clap
Sensible Ruwan : okay ruwans, lets calm down, this can be done.
Calm Ruwan : huh? sorry i was dozing off
Planning Ruwan : okay, ill sms these two people standard messages, asking THEM in turn who to invite, and that way something will transpire.


So this was the message :
hey _____! you may not know me but im seoks friend Ruwan? Im planning to throw her a surprise party on the 10th of June at TGIF 1U...do you think you can make it? And do you have any suggestions on who else I invite?


Both replies said that i should ask Ray Mun for numbers...*uhoh*, but at the end of one, it gave some names, and one other number

So i sms that number, and get 2 numbers in turn, and so on and so forth.

But of course, there just HAS to be a bump along the way.
I ask Arun of seoks class, for the names and numbers of the three girls that seok hangs out with at college...I thought that at 2 am he would still be awake studying or something!!! After all, there was only like a few more days left till mocks! But noooo....

The next day,
Arun : hey seok, your friend ruwan messaged me at 2am last night
Seok : 2 am?! huh?!
Arun : yeah who smses people at 2am?
Seok : what did he want?
Arun : I was too tired to read...*proceeds to READ THE MESSAGE OUT LOUD* , ooopps...it says at the end im not supposed to tell you.

An hour later
Seok : RUWAN! WHY DID YOU ASK ARUN FOR THE NAMES AND NUMBERS OF THE THREE PEOPLE I HANG OUT WITH AT HELP?
Ruwan : errr....i needed them to....erm....how do you know?!
Seok : *Relates story*
Ruwan : omg stupid arun!
Seok : is it because your getting a gift with ray mun, and need more people to share so everyone pays less?
Ruwan : yes!
Seok : ohok...oh no now i feel so guilty...i shouldnt have told you i knew!
Ruwan : nvm...nvmm....ill find someone ELSE TO SHARE *hops around on one leg with joy*
