From the last time I blogged about her, Hil has been named the second richest teen star in the world, with a personal fortune of 25 million US dollars. Thats 87 million Ringgit! Also, Forbes magazine has placed her as the 71st most powerful celebrity on the Celebrity 100 (2007) list, because she raked in 12 million last year, 3 million less than the previous year.
Where did the rest of the money go you may ask...After all, shes been earning millions since 2002. Nope, nope its perfectly safe and accounted for!
She bought her multi million dollar house, right next to George Lopez's. She bought her Mercedes SL500, her Range Rover Vogue. She bought $250, 000 worth of meals for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. Her $90,000 watch. And miscellaneous expenses =)
She's a producer - her production company produced Material Girls among other things, and shes producing her first album (her sister's debut) next year.
She's a singer - over 13 million albums sold. 'Nuff said.
She's a mogul - She has her own lifestyle company which earns a revenue of $1 billion a year, and which raked in most of her big bucks, and an exclusive deal with Elizabeth Arden. Her first perfume 'With Love' is currently the top selling celebrity perfume around, and the next in the line is 'Wrapped With Love', out soon.
She's an actress - She commands 2 million buckaroos a film, and her movies total box office earnings come to a grand total of $555,157,608. Thats an average of $61million a movie! Even Nicole Kidman (highest paid actress)'s movies only get an average of $103 million a movie.
She's a designer - Her line Stuff by Hilary Duff launched to rave reviews in the USA, Australia, and the UK. Her newer line Hilary Duff aimed at teenagers and young adults is in planning.
She enjoys the privelege of being the most successful post-Disney star to date. Her headlining 2007 'Dignity' tour is set to last until the beginning of 2008, taking her around the world from Canada to the USA, to the UK, Australia, to Bahrain and even to India.
With all this she stays the same, and sane.
From Joel Madden she's moved on to Mike Comrie. Some of you might know him! He plays centre with the New York Islanders of the the NHL. He's Canadian, and heir to the Brick Warehouse (the largest volume retailers in Canada) Fortune.
She has fun, but she keeps herself in check. She's a hygiene and cleanliness freak, and is very particular about her weight. [She doesn't want to be called Duff Puff or What Duff? (too thin) anymore...she prefers to stay at Buff Duff].
Lifes pretty sweet for this girl, who gave up on acting forever at the age of 11, until she was forced into an audition by Disney who bribed her with a free ticket to LA. Once there she purposely did not rehearse as she did not want anything to do with acting, but upon getting criticism, she wanted to prove herself, and fought tooth and nail for the part of Lizzie. Finally after kicking out Lindsay Lohan and the person already set to play Lizzie, she got the part.
And look.
8 years later, 25 million dollars later, shes on top of the world.
People magazine calls her an A-list star. I think she is =) And soon, watch out Nicole Kidman!
