Well, it’s over. With The Deathly Hallows, the most successful children's series, which made its author richer than the queen, and the richest author of all time (the only one to become a billionaire) has come to a definitive ending, tying up loose threads, revealing secret agendas and hidden histories, explaining motivations and culminating in a cataclysmic showdown between Good and Evil.

Its wrapped up so completely that theres no way she could continue the series if she ever spends her billions. The strings are tied so tightly that its just bursting. I mean who would want to hear about Harry's kids right, unless its a whole family adventure.

Who on earth would name their kid Albus Severus tell me?

SPOILERS : What happened to the main characters?

HARRY was the final horcrux. Willing to die, his sacrifice made Voldemort’s attack rebound on the Dark Lord (but I don't really understand how this worked, and she actually rambled when she was explaining here). He keeps the Hallows in order that they will never be used for evil, marries Ginny and has three children - Albus Severus, James, and Lily.

RON and HERMIONE emerge unscathed from the final confrontation, and finally admit their feelings for each other. They have two children, and Ron passes his driving test.

HAGRID is still the gamekeeper at Hogwarts, and keeps an eye on the next generation of wizards, along with Professor Neville Longbottom.

DRACO MALFOY was saved by Harry. He also gets married, and has a son, Scorpius. We don't get to know the name of his wife.

SEVERUS SNAPE was in love with Harry’s mother, and worked as a double agent for Dumbledore throughout Voldemort’s reign. He was murdered by Voldemort when he was of no use (and also since Voldermort wanted this powerful wand which answered to Snape).

R.A.B was REGULUS BLACK, and played little part in the novel.

LUPIN and TONKS got married, had a child, and died in the Battle against Voldemort. Their son is adopted by the Potters.

DOBBY, MAD-EYE MOODY, FRED WEASLEY, CRABBE and PETER PETTIGREW all died as well.

VOLDEMORT died, because he didn’t believe in love.

END OF SPOILERS

The book was the best yet. Hands down. It was a different kind of book, and it focused mostly on the three main characters and the dead Dumbledore and the supporting characters were pushed into the background. Characters we missed in the 6th book came back and completed their obligations to the readers. It was action pack, and my only complaint was that Rowling rambles when explaining why spoiler number 1 happened.

The action and killing started right at the beginning of the book much to my surprise. And the end wrapped it up.

No more Harry. Ever.

It still hasnt sunk in. But I feel so sad, and upset and angry that its ended. I grow too attached to series. Sigh.

Oh well...

As the drama revolving the release of the book unfolded before my very eyes in Malaysia, almost driving me to tears worrying that I would break my tradition of buying the book on the first day of release, I just went numb. After panicking at home since I had withdrawn my MPH preorder in favour of Carrefour prices, and then decided not to buy it from a hypermarket, and then couldnt find any where other than Borders that was selling it to those that did not preorder, I finally got the book at 12.30, before rushing off to my outing at 1.00. So I was elated, but very unhappy at the very short number of pages. But it was all good in the end, and I finished the book in 7 hours. I savoured every single word, and reflected after each chapter, and went back and reread some parts to really sink into the story.

It was a great ride Harry. I love you, Ron and Hermione. When I sat my SPM, you sat your OWLS. Hahaha...

Too bad they couldnt sit their NEWTS though eh? And they dont say what jobs they took up later in life. But oh well.

It was a great great ride.

Gonna reread now!

ENJOY!
