You know, Im not really a kiasu person...People think I'm kiasu and sometimes I might agree with them (inside) but you know what...I am very kiasu now, but I used to be even more kiasu in primary school..
I was always top in my class and I always had to beat everyone else...According to my maternal grandfather in his memoirs, one day, I was scared I would lose one mark and so I wrote a note to my teacher saying 'Teacher, I love you, please give me a hundred'...
But of course no one in my whole family can remember this, and he lived in a total different country, so the validity of that statement is questionable.
I do remember however, that one day for my science exam I had gotten 49/50, and the one I got wrong was such a stupid error...I knew the correct answer, but I MISSPELT IT...so I decided to correct the answer..
Me : Teacher, how come this is wrong? Its correct isn't it?
T : *looks briefly* go change it back to the answer you wrote
Me : ....................................
Since then I never attempted to cheat once I got my paper back cause of that single event =p
But more than just being kiasu, I was hardworking...I watched unbelievable amounts of TV (I first wore glasses in standard 1) but I still did all my homework and studied, and went on play dates with my then 5 best friends...
WHY CANT I BE LIKE THAT NOW...Now I'm just lazy...
I'm the only kiasu but lazy person I know...I'm a traitor to the kiasu race =p
The future...
Mom : your sister spends too much! I told her to put her money into an apartment but noooo
Me : The first thing I'm gonna do is buy a house!
Mom : good boy!
Today I went on errands with my mom, and one of them involved me depositing a cheque...on the way into the bank I noticed the people in the bank working in the freezing cold and I thought 'I WANNA DO THAT!'
After depositing the cheque, I went out, and then suddenly in the car my mom said
Mom : What do you see yourself doing in 5 years time?
Me : 5 years? Ill be....23? hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....working in a bank!
Mom : A bank? Then you'll never get your experience for your Chartership...then you should do banking
Me : hmmm...I guess Accounting also can...
Mom : WHAT DO YOU MEAN ACCOUNTING CAN... THEN WHY ARE YOU DOING ACCOUNTING AND FINANCE!
Me : I wanna become a financial analyst!
Mom : ohokay...thats good then...
Me : but I wont be able to buy a house anymore, cause I need 100k to do my Masters in Finance in Melb. Uni later
Mom : oh...well...at least its for a good cause...
I actually wanted to do it in LSE, but it costs 200,000...I would rather buy a car =p
And can someone please tell me what the hell the Melbourne Model is?! I'm supposed to be doing that in 2008 (oh did I mention, I changed my mind the 5th time? I'm starting in 2008 now)...all because I'm doing Commerce, which is one of the 5 Melbourne Model courses...The site is no help at all, and I cant make head or tail of the map, cause I DON'T SEE ANY BLOODY DIFFERENCE!
I managed to (for now) get out of staying in a dorm (my mom reasons that since their more expensive, they must be better) so I don't have to worry about sharing a toilet with 5 ppl yet..
Emy also gave me a preview of the new A levels tshirt...its cool =D See, Emy your such a genius...thus I told Divya to get you to design the A level blog ;)
Anyway...tomorrow La Bodega...cant wait...
the lemon lime is calling me! TAPAS!
