an update on everybodies favourite girl :

HILARY DUFF

1) Hilary Duff has been hailed as a heroine by Hurricane Katrina charities after sponsoring 200,000 meals for two refugee shelters in Houston, Texas.

Duff bought the meals through charity USA Harvest and the packages will be shipped to the shelters, where some victims of the 2005 disaster still remain.

"Hilary has set an extraordinary example with her generous contributions to the Gulf Coast victims of last year's tragic hurricanes. With her current contribution, Hilary will have donated over 2.7 million meals to the victims who still need these generous donations," USA Harvest chairman Stan Curtis said.

2) "Play With Fire" - Hilary Duff

Hilary Duff has got a brand-new bag. "Play With Fire" is less of the cliched little-girl-playing-tough-pop/rocker than it is a truly intriguing exploration into darker, more experimental melodic structures that could attract a whole new crowd of late-night dancefloor minions to the Duff camp. The original version is just fine, but the tweaked-out radio edit from remixer Richard Vission is a true work of art, refashioning Duff as a potential innovator - and heaven knows there are precious few of those these days.

Hil`s new album is due in first-quarter 2007. It will be fascinating to see if this is an enchanting fluke, or if America is destined to at last see the arrival of its own Kylie.
